Soldiers of the Jacobite Era

We hope you will find this website highly interesting as you learn more about our lives, our viewpoints and historical perspectives, what we do and why we do it. Going further, we’re keen to locate ‘lost brothers and sisters’ of our Clan, scattered on a global scale during the Highland Clearances of 1745 and afterwards and where many innocents were put to the sword or else forcibly emigrated forever from the Scottish soil formerly tilled for generations by their forefathers. By way of synopsis, we openly reject allegiance to the Royal House of Hanover in existence today and in preference to the restoration of an independent Scottish Monarchy and Government System rejecting the Act Of Union, 1707, and whereby Scotland can become an independent nation once again and free of many international obligations forced upon us by British membership of NATO and the European Union.

Having said that, we’re keen to point out how traditional values and local education exceed the mass-produced needs designed to produce common compliancy and suppress the skills of new thinking, innovation, invention and research. Scotland was the ‘Athens of the North’ while industrial England was the ‘Workshop Of The World’. Today, we still lead in many fields of medical research, engineering and science but on a far smaller scale than once existed. By example, during World War II, the highly successful B24 Liberator aircraft incorporating the Davis wing, designed by Consolidated and manufactured by Henry Ford, exceeded many expectations yet relied on crucial components made at John Brown’s shipyards in Glasgow and because they could not be made to sufficient accuracy anywhere else! There was even a time when one third of all ocean-going ships were built in Scotland!

In more recent times, however, and where global connections favour plastic goods of questionable value: we trust in traditional where others might follow.

We produce authentic Jacobite and semi-Jacobite (modern Jacobean) items for re-enactors, enthusiasts, Scots everywhere in the World who just like to wear the old true style of Highland dress. We live what we wear and we wear what we are. Our creations are sure to make you feel like you are a part of yesteryear. Items such as these are not only functional but a real conversation piece that will not just impress you but your friends and family as well. Why not own a real piece of Scotland and historically accurate garments. We invite you to look at our items so far listed and come back soon as we’ll be adding items on a weekly basis. If you do not see what you desire, please contact us and we will be happy to make it for you.

Our Chief, Calum Anderson, is a gifted and experienced leather and metal smith. He is capable of creating whatever you desire to levels of great authenticity and quality that will astonish you. We are proud of who and what we are. If you desire any item from this or other periods. Drop us an email or call us and let us serve you.

McAndreis is a traditional clan. We do not recognise today’s imposed clan system nor do we agree with the system that governs it or those that follow. We believe deeply in the ancient clan traditions as practised Pre-Culloden. We believe in clan freedom, rights and Scots nationalism. We celebrate our beliefs and clan life through historical accounts, re-enactments, story telling, fellowship, respect and loyalty. We take part in commemorations through personal, spiritual and religious services done in a peaceful and respectful manner.
